Kidnapping Arrest
On Saturday May 23, 2026, at approximately 10:00 AM, Cecil County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Maryland State Police responded to the 2990 block of Appleton Road Elkton in reference to a possible abduction. When deputies arrived, they contacted a male subject. The male subject stated that he was awakened by his girlfriend stating that a male subject, whom they knew as “Tyree” was inside the residence. The male subject advised that “Tyree” was inside the residence destroying property. The male subject stated that “Tyree” was at the residence to collect money owed for controlled dangerous substances. The male subject agreed to pay “Tyree” and went to a local ATM and retrieved $400.00.
The male subject returned to the residence and gave “Tyree” the money. The male subject stated that “Tyree” then grabbed him by the neck and pushed him to the ground. The male subject stated that his girlfriend then left with “Tyree” in a Chrysler Pacifica that the male subject had rented.
At approximately 8:00 PM, “Tyree” and the girlfriend returned to the residence. The girlfriend was able to enter the residence while “Tyree” stayed in the vehicle. The male subject called 911 to inform law enforcement that his girlfriend had returned to the residence and “Tyree” was inside the vehicle in the driveway with a loaded firearm. Deputies were able to arrive at the residence prior to “Tyree” leaving the scene. Deputies made repeated demands for “Tyree” to exit the vehicle, but he continuously ignored their commands. The male subject and his girlfriend were able to leave the residence while deputies were still attempting to contact “Tyree”.
The girlfriend stated that “Tyree” had forced her to leave the residence by using threats and fear of violence to include killing her if law enforcement was contacted. The girlfriend stated that “Tyree” would not let her leave as he took care of numerous errands including assaulting another male. She advised that “Tyree” was in possession of a black and green cross shoulder satchel bag that contained a firearm and controlled dangerous substances.
Contact was made with members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT). Members of the team responded to the residence along with their assigned BearCat rescue vehicle. Ultimately, SRT was able to pin the suspect vehicle against the residence with the use of the BearCat rescue vehicle. “Tyree” fled the suspect vehicle with the satchel bag and ran inside the residence. “Tyree” then exited the residence and attempted to flee on foot. Deputies were able to tackle “Tyree” and place him under arrest.
The BearCat rescue vehicle was acquired by the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office in 2025 to assist with high-risk incidents.
Investigators performed a search of the residence and located a satchel bag matching the description of the one possessed by “Tyree”, behind a mini refrigerator in the basement of the residence. The satchel bag contained a loaded 9 mm handgun, fifteen bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 8 grams of suspected of crack co***ne, and one gram of co***ne.
“Tyree” was identified as Tyree Shauntel Jordan (black male, 40 years of age, address – 300 block of Suburban Drive Elkton, Maryland). A warrant check revealed that Mr. Jordan has an outstanding arrest warrant for armed robbery with the Elkton, Maryland Police Department.
Tyree Jordan was also identified as the driver of a motor vehicle that fled from deputies during an attempted traffic stop on East Old Philadelphia Road Elkton on 05-14-2026. The vehicle that Mr. Jordan was operating was displaying a stolen registration plate when the traffic stop was initiated.
On 05-29-26, Tyree Jordan was served with arrest warrants for these incidents. Tyree Jordan was charged with the following offenses in reference to the incident on 05-23-2026:
Kidnapping
False Imprisonment
Assault Second Degree
Retaliation against witness for felony offense
Loaded handgun on person
Handgun on person
Possession of firearm after conviction of crime of violence
Possession of regulated firearm by prohibited person
Possession of ammunition when prohibited to possess firearm
Possession of controlled dangerous substance – heroin/fentanyl
Possession of controlled dangerous substance – crack co***ne
Possession of controlled dangerous substance - co***ne
Tyree Jordan was also charged with theft less than $100.00, fleeing and eluding in motor vehicle, and numerous other traffic offenses from the incident on 05-14-2026 when he fled the attempted traffic stop.
Mr. Jordan is currently being held without bond at the Cecil County Correctional Facility.
