Inspired by her father, who never had the chance to learn how to read or write, Dolly founded Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 1995, and her heartfelt effort in East Tennessee grew into a global movement that has gifted hundreds of millions of free books directly into the hands and homes of children from birth until kindergarten.

Dolly understood how the spark of reading transforms lives and connects families. Thank you, Dolly, for your kindness, your generosity, and your belief in the power of a good book.
