✳️✳️ SAFETY MESSAGE ✳️✳️
Tomorrow, August 24, 2026, school buses will hit the road as our youth start a new school year!!!
- Please leave earlier, to allow extra time for delays from school buses.
- Remember to stop for every stopped school bus, and watch for kids at bus stops!
- Remember to slow in school zones, as kids are nervous and anxious about going back to school, and may not have roadway traffic on their minds..

In the early hours of Monday morning, Ellerbe Fire responded to a structure fire with equipment involved inside.
Was pretty much a total loss due to the time of day, and had probably been burning for a bit before it was discovered, however we had a good turnout, ready to work. Thanks to Derby Fire Department, Northside Vol. Fire Dept., as well as Mountain Creek Fire Department for responding and assisting with extinguishment, and water supply!! Cause unknown at this time.

We were glad to be able to take part in the community event at the Richmond County Airport today! As always, proud of our members who take their time to give back to our communities!

‼️‼️ FYI- For those who heard the loud siren in town, we have been working on our siren warning system at the fire station this evening. There is no danger or tornado. We apologize for any confusion.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of firefighter Lee Williamson, and to the Mt. Creek Fire department with the loss of a fellow firefighter.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Lee Williamson.
Lee was more than a firefighter—he was a trusted friend, and a valued member of our fire department family. His commitment to protecting others, his selfless service, and his unwavering willingness to answer the call will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with Lee's family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched during this difficult time. We are forever grateful for his service, his sacrifice, and the legacy he leaves behind.
Rest easy, Brother. We have the watch from here.

All 100 tickets for the First Annual July 4th raffle have been sold. We appreciate everyone who shared our post, put the word out and purchased a ticket!
We will have our raffle drawing LIVE tomorrow (07/04/26) around 6:30 pm right here on this page.

Ellerbe Fire Department has the honor of shooting two firework shows tomorrow night in the small town of Ellerbe. The first firework show will be hosted by the Lions Club following the second set of fireworks hosted by The Berry Patch.
Make sure everyone comes together to support their local small town tomorrow night.

Good safety reminder from our friends at The North Carolina Highway Patrol!! As we settle in to summer, vehicle temperatures are unbelievable. Look twice!!

As temperatures rise across North Carolina, remember:
never leave children or pets in a parked car, not even for a minute.

On a 90° day, a vehicle can reach 120° in just 10 minutes.

Check the back seat. Lock your car. If you see a child or pet alone inside, call 911 immediately.

Help prevent tragedy—look before you lock.
