Happy Earth Day 2026!

56 years ago, Earth Day sparked a global movement to protect the planet we call home. Today, that power is still ours. This year's theme - "Our Power, Our Planet" - celebrates what happens when communities come together to defend clean air, clean water, and the natural world around us. From reforesting landscapes to reducing pollution, the power to heal this planet starts with each of us.

At The Unforgotten, we believe a healthier planet begins at the ground level with each of us. This Earth Day, join us in taking action! Protecting this planet and its people!

Each year the board members try and visit each country in which we operate. This year, we are aiming to visit Djibouti for some important meetings with partners. However, we need your help as the trip is very costly. Consider donating to https://gofund.me/e4133e169 to help our boardmember, Ron, make the trip!

At our Nepal Learning Center in Kathmandu, our incredible students are bundled up in hats and coats, but their focus never wavers. Despite the cold, they gather each day in a safe, warm space where they receive homework help, educational support, and nutritious afternoon snacks.

These former child wastepickers, are building brighter futures—one lesson at a time. And it's YOUR generosity that makes it possible. Thanks to donor support for our winter clothing program, these children stay warm while they learn.

Every donation creates change. Every child deserves this chance.

What happens when we believe in the power of possibility? In 2025, we witnessed 88 children across six countries trade waste-picking for the wonder of learning. We have re-ignited our program in India, aiming to assist child wastepickers in Jaipur; expanded our programs in Nepal and Bangladesh; launched the learning center in Zambia and had our first college graduate from the program; held the first annual anti-trafficking workshop in Sierra Leone; and continued support in Djibouti and with the Child Bright Orphanage in Nepal. All of this is achieved with minimal overhead, ensuring every dollar goes directly to those in need.

These aren't just statistics – they are stories of lives transformed, families strengthened, and communities uplifted.

Read their full stories in our attached newsletter and see how hope is taking root in unexpected places.

Together, we're proving that change is possible.

This Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, be part of a global movement that proves how individual acts of generosity can change the world. At The Unforgotten Fund, we have witnessed this power firsthand through our work with child wastepickers and vulnerable communities across six countries.
