❤️💛💚 Celebrate Juneteenth with stories that honor freedom, resilience, and history. Juneteenth, observed each year on June 19, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. HCLS invites families to explore powerful children’s books that help young readers learn about the meaning and history of Juneteenth through stories of courage, community, and hope.
