Dear All,
Assalam o Alaikum
March 31, 2026 was my last day as President of Aligarh Alumni Association, Washington, DC.
I am extremely thankful to the General Body of the Association to have faith in me.
Along with the member of the Executive Council, Board of Trustees and active members of the Association, we tried our best to perform our duties.

This year was a Golden Jubilee (1975-2025) year for the Association and also host of 24th annual Convention of The Federation of Aligarh Alumni Associations (FAAA).

Once again Thank you everyone for your support.

I would like to assure all my support to new Executive Council headed by Ms. Ariena Rashid (President).

Prof Majida Asad, an Alig and retired professor of Hindi from Jamia Milla Islamia is no more with us. She died in New Jersey USA.

She was keynote speaker in 2020 in Aligarh Alumni Association, Washington, DC annual Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan.

She also served as Member of AMU Court and EC in and around 2000

May Allah have mercy on her and grant her highest place in Jannah and give patience to family and friends.

Congratulations to Dr. Zafar Iqbal bhai for being awarded well deserved Major Dhayanchand Lifetime Achievement award.

Dr Zafar Iqbal is an Alig, served as Captain of Indian Hockey Team in Olympics and also served as coach of Indian National Hockey Team.

Dr Zafar Iqbal Sahab attended FAAA Convention in 2016 in Phoenix AZ.

Indian hockey legend Zafar Iqbal opened up about being honoured with the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hockey India 8th Annual Awards 2025 on Friday. Zafar Iqbal said the award came as a surprise and that he feels happy and honoured to receive it.

This event aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious and deserving students at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh.

Your previous contributions have significantly impacted the lives of numerous meritorious students, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations.

However, we recognize the need for continued support to address the evolving challenges faced by these students.
