Summer in western New York is a great time to read outside because, as you know, snow and rain prevail for all the other seasons. The back patio at the library is a quiet, comfortable place to sit and read. Come check out a book or bring your own. Speaking of reading outside - there are several places nearby that are also encouraging reading outside:

The Nannen Arboretum has a Silent Book Club. Come to the Arboretum and “unplug” with the book of your choice. Return to nature and take the time to socialize, whether talking about one book, many different books, or no book at all!

Every Wednesday evening beginning June 3rd and continuing until September 16th

6:00 PM Arrive, Social time
6:30 PM Reading Time
7:30 PM Social time or keep reading
The Arboretum has an array of benches and picnic tables throughout the grounds, allowing you to find your quiet space!

Another reading spot in Cattaraugus happens at the Zaepful Nature Center. Join them for Novels in Nature on Sunday, August 16th from 11am to 1pm. This is a pay what you can event. Bring your book, a comfy chair, blanket, or mat, water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Read, relax, and reset in a beautiful space outdoors in nature. They will have Dirty Sodas and Reading Snacks for a small price. Also, Blind Date with a Book available for purchase. Join them and relax while reading in Nature.

Remember, summer is pretty short, so get out there and read while you can!

Tomorrow at Story Time we will be wrapping up a month of dinosaur stories and activities. We had fun with the dot markers last week and making our own dinosaur feet the week before. Tomorrow each child will get their very own dinosaur puzzle.🦖🦕
