The proposed First Reader of the Short-Term Rental Host License Ordinance amendments, along with a comparison document, is now available on the main County website and the Short-Term Rental website.



A public hearing is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. 4:30 p.m., Gilmer County Community Center, 824 Industrial Blvd. Ellijay, GA.

Ensure your household is resilient by executing these critical start-of-the-month safety checks:

* Test Alarms: Check all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Replace the batteries if you haven't done so in the last six months.

The STR Host License Ordinance Amendment Draft, v7DRAFT, 9.30.2026, to be discussed at the Special Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners is available, with a comparison to the current Ordinance, on the Board of Commissioners website at www.gilmercounty-ga.gov ,scroll down to OTHER to view.
2.) Please make sure you are reviewing v7 dated 9.30.2026.
3.) An overview of the changes will be presented at the Special Called Meeting on 10.1.2026.
4.) The required Public Hearing on the proposed amendments to the Short-Term Rental Host License Ordinance is set for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the Gilmer Community Center, 824 Industrial Blvd.
