August Recap
We may have been a little quiet on Facebook lately, but August was anything but quiet around the City of Ellijay Fire Department!
Hereโs a look at some of what our crews have been up to this past month:
โข Crews began working on some much-needed improvements to our station gym area. Weโll share a few โduringโ photos for now โ stay tuned for the finished product!
โข B-Shift enjoyed spending the day with a local Scouts of America troop for their annual Water & Fire Safety Day. We always enjoy opportunities to spend time with the kids in our community!
โข Firefighter Logan Mashburn completed the Fannin County Fire Rescue Recruit School and passed his state testing! Logan will officially join A-Shift as a full-time firefighter in September and will continue the next step in his fire service training with HazMat.
โข Chief Harper completed the United Leadership Program, continuing to invest in leadership development for both himself and the department.
โข Mandatory testing was completed on our Quint ladder truck to ensure it remains ready and safe for service.
โข Crews continued hands-on training throughout the month, sharpening the skills we rely on when the call comes in.
โข And, of course...we answered calls! Between all of the projects, training and community events, our crews continued responding to the everyday emergencies and calls for service throughout the City of Ellijay.
August was a busy month of training, growth, community and preparation โ and September is already shaping up to be another busy one!
Here are a few snapshots of what August looked like around Station 15.
