FIRST ALERT: A major winter storm will hit Mississippi this weekend.

As of now, the Pine Belt is in better shape than other parts of Mississippi. Areas north of I-20 will likely see a major Ice Storm, have travel issues, and power outages.

In the Pine Belt, we will deal with a cold rain for most of Saturday and into Sunday, but there could be a Freezing Rain mix on Sunday for some of our NW counties. Ice amounts would be very low, but that could change depending on how far south the cold air goes.

BOTTOM LINE: There remains a TON of uncertainties in the forecast, and things will continue to change.

The boil water notice for Ellisville has been extended to Thursday. Ellisville Water Department officials said due to the holiday weekend, they were not able to test the water until today (Tuesday) and it takes at least 24 hours before the results can be known.

The entire city of Ellisville is under a boil water notice until further notice. We had a main water line to break.

At Tuesday night’s board meeting Chris, Keri and Caden Sherman delivered an early Christmas present. They donated $5000.00 to each the Police Department and the Fire Department. The city wants to whole heartedly thank them for the generous donation.
