Today, the Ellsworth AFB EOD Flight paused to remember the life of SSgt Bryan D. Berky.

SSgt Berky gave his life on 12 September, 2009, while conducting mounted EOD operations in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

He left behind his 8 month old son Harrison, his wife Erin, his brother Jeremy, his parents Bill and Sonya, and countless friends and teammates. Bryan’s infectious laugh, undeniable spirit, and passion for life will never be forgotten.

A Hackberry tree is planted in his memory, located on M-Hill overlooking Rapid City, South Dakota.
