Severe thunderstorms will be possible both late Saturday and late Sunday across southwest Kansas. Strong damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall will be the main hazards both days. Saturday there will also be a small chance for a brief, weak tornado.

STRONG TORNADO AREA TOMORROW:

Its back to the high plains of and perhaps far northeastern ! Deep moisture by regional standards and a well timed impulse should initiate scattered supercells by later afternoon. They will also be capable of very large hail and destructive winds.

Eventual clustering into a bow echo seems possible, with sweeping destructive winds and QLCS tornadoes possible overnight as it pushes east!

Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible later today through tonight across the region, with the better chances generally over central, north-central, and northeast KS. Widespread severe weather appears unlikely at this time.

Thunderstorms are expected to arrive Saturday night for portions of central and south central Kansas. The strongest activity will be capable of damaging winds and perhaps half dollar size hail. Stay tuned for additional forecast updates.
