Cheese Curd Festival Traffic Information
The Cheese Curd Festival will be held on Friday June 21st 4:30PM-9PM and Saturday June 22nd 8AM-9PM. As you know, this event provides a big economic boost for our local businesses and tourism exposure for our community. We anticipate large crowds to be in attendance for the event once again this year.
Please be aware of the following street closures in East Ellsworth:
- E. Wall Street between Main and Morse Streets
- Crosscut Avenue
- N. Broadway Street
If there are barricades across the roadway, do not move them or drive around them, they are there for a legitimate purposes. Also, for safety and to ease traffic congestion, some streets adjacent to the festival grounds will be posted as “No Parking” during the festival. Vehicles violating “No Parking” orders may be ticketed and or towed.
Convenient festival parking is available at the Ellsworth Elementary School/High School, and the Pierce County Parking lots off W. Kinne Street. Continuous shuttles will transport festival guests between the parking lots and festival grounds on Friday 4P-10:30PM and Saturday 8AM-10:30PM. While there is on-street parking available in the neighborhoods around the festival grounds, local residents within walking distance would be best to walk.

Thank you for your patience during this fun 1 ½ day event! When driving through town, please be extra attentive to car traffic and pedestrians. Have a safe and great time.

Thank you,
Chief Eric Ladwig
Ellsworth Police Department.

Single-sort recycling: What exactly belongs in your bin

We took a behind-the-scenes tour to see the good, the bad and the ugly of a single-sort recycling facility. As it turns out, most of us are sticking the wrong stuff in our curbside bins.

05/16/2019

P.I.G. has asked that we share with Village of Ellsworth residents a letter from Recycle MN where recyclables are taken to for disposal. All items in recycling bins which are not recyclable will be charged back to P.I.G., which in turn will increase the cost to residents for recycling pick-up. Also no plastic bags, batteries or shredded paper can be placed in recycling carts. Please place only items that are recyclable in your cart. Thank you!

Congratulations Pres. DeWolfe! Well deserved.
02/20/2019

Congratulations Pres. DeWolfe! Well deserved.

Paul Bauer, Chamber Board President, surprised this year's award recipient, Jerry DeWolfe. Paul hailed Jerry for his ability to solve problems over a cup of coffee and his willingness to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty!

Jerry had a long career with Pierce Pepin Cooperative where he was a Line Superintendent. He has been a volunteer firefighter for many years, serving as Fire Chief and most recently 2nd Assistant Fire Chief. He has served our community for 32 years on our Village Board — 5 years as trustee, and 27 years as President. Over this time he has given countless hours to serving on various Village committees, representing the Village at events, ribbon cuttings, open houses, legislative events, and more. Paul shared about personally witnessing Jerry giving a tongue-lashing to our state's DOT.

He's always willing to listen to ideas and partner with residents and businesses to further Ellsworth in areas of economic development and quality of life. You'll find him working up a sweat with the best of them at the Cheese Curd Festival and most recently has been supportive of the Design Ellsworth project and instrumental in implementing various initiatives at the Village level to further the effort. Congratulations, Jerry, and thank you for your selfless service to our community!
