Ellsworth County EMS had the pleasure of hosting Ellsworth County Youth Safety Day, welcoming 6th grade students from Kanopolis Middle School, Wilson Elementary, and Central Plains Elementary to the EMS station for a fun and educational day focused on safety.

Students participated in a variety of hands-on learning stations covering important topics that will help keep them safe now and in the future. These included fire extinguisher use, gun safety, the effects of drugs on the brain and addiction, internet safety and bullying, ATV/UTV safety, weather awareness, the dangers of energy drinks, seat belt safety, electrical and power line safety, and a K-9 demonstration showcasing how trained dogs assist in locating drugs and searching for individuals.

This event is designed to provide real-world knowledge in an engaging way, and it’s always great to see the students actively participating and asking questions throughout the day.

We could not make this event possible without the incredible support of our community and our dedicated presenters. A huge thank you to:

💙 First Responder Family Peer Support Group – Tomorrow at 6:00 PM 💙

Behind every first responder is a family making sacrifices most people never see.

Late nights. Missed holidays. Interrupted dinners. The stress of not knowing what the next call will bring. The emotional weight that can follow a difficult shift home.

This group was created because first responder families face unique challenges — and they deserve support too.

Tomorrow at 6:00 PM at Ellsworth County EMS, the 10-33 Foundation will be hosting a peer-led support group specifically for spouses, significant others, and family members of EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement personnel.

This is a safe, welcoming space where attendees can:
• Connect with others who understand the first responder lifestyle
• Share experiences if they choose
• Learn healthy ways to navigate stress and communication
• Access resources designed specifically for first responder families

There is no pressure to speak. You are welcome to simply attend and listen.

Strong families help build strong first responders — and strong first responders serve strong communities.

Today is an exciting day for Ellsworth County EMS and for our entire community — our newest ambulance has officially joined the fleet and will begin service today!

With the steady increase in both emergency calls and interfacility transfers across our county, adding this ambulance helps ensure we can respond faster, maintain coverage, and continue providing dependable care whenever you need us.
The ambulance has been fully inspected and approved by the Kansas Board of EMS and is now ready to serve the citizens and visitors of Ellsworth County.

This milestone would not be possible without the continued support of our community. Your trust in your local EMS truly means everything to us.
We would also like to sincerely thank our County Commissioners for their commitment to public safety, and Osage Ambulances for building such a beautiful, high-quality ambulance that will serve our community for many years to come.

No matter the time — day or night — when you call, we will be there.

Proud to serve Ellsworth County
