Today at Oswego East High School - DuPage Water Commission Chairman Jim Zay, The Board of Commissioners, and staff joined Illinois Section AWWA, American Water Works Association, and leaders from the WaterLink Communities - Village of Montgomery, IL, Village of Oswego, Illinois, and United City of Yorkville– to celebrate the groundbreaking of one of the largest municipal water infrastructure projects in Illinois in the last 30 years.
WaterLink is a major regional infrastructure partnership, formed to secure a sustainable, long-term drinking water supply for the rapidly growing communities of Montgomery, Oswego, and Yorkville due to declining aquifer levels in the region. This project will delivery Lake Michigan water to the WaterLink communities through a 30-mile pipeline extension connected to the existing DuPage Water Commission system.
We congratulate the WaterLink communities and all the dedicated individuals whose long-term planning has helped ensure a safe and reliable water supply for future generations.
