If this Cafe wasn't adorable enough - Our new Cafe Manager, Amanda, is also an ARTIST. She spent sometime this week painting this beautiful "GIVING TREE".
The tree is here for anyone to share a meal with another person. It can be anonymous or you can tell the world it was you. Either way - feeding someone else is one of the kindest gestures one human can do for another!! Stop in for lunch and help someone while you are doing it 🥰

We had a fire alarm this week at MOW. One of our favorite little helpers got to see his dad at work. Firefighting is STONG in the Lutz family. We will see, but I’m betting this boy will one day be answering the calls. Thanks EFD for your service!!

What an incredible beginning for our new Meals on Wheels Café! We are officially Chemung County Chamber of Commerce approved, and we even received our First Dollar — a moment that brought back memories of Kevin Keely handing me my very first one. Somehow, receiving this one from Jennifer Herrick-McGonigal made it even more special 🥰

A heartfelt thank you to WETM 18 News, WENY TV News, and Jeff Murray from the stargazette.com / Star-Gazette for showing up, sharing our story, and helping us spread the word.
And a very big thank you to Mike Rogers from Senator O’Mara’s Office for formally proclaiming our Café as a positive addition to Chemung County.

I also want to recognize Beth Stranges from the Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care — my partner, collaborator, friend, and a true superhero for our aging community. Her unwavering support for Meals on Wheels means so much to all of us!

Our Café is now open Monday–Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Meals are just $6.00, and we serve the same nutritious meal we deliver to our clients. Reduced‑price meals are available for anyone who needs them.

Finally, the biggest shout‑out goes to Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield for the incredibly generous grant that made this Café a reality. We are grateful beyond words.
