Day #8 with 4 hours left of their workday! Carol takes us on a short tour. Obviously, our Access Services Manager is digging the new carpet--and needs to check out one of the library's thesauruses. She clearly isn't thesauri-savvy.

Our roving reporter, Marge, captured some photos for a carpet installation update today. The crew worked on Saturday and got so much done! Katy's office, the Library Services Desk area, the hallway heading to Dr. Lemak's office, and the area by the front stairway. Welcome to 2026, GTL!!

Sorry, but not sorry for all of our carpet posts. We are just sooooo excited! Our Technical Services Manager, Katy Galvin '83, reports that the area in front of the water station and elevator is done and the old purple carpet has been removed from the Library Services Desk area. Our Director of Facilities, Steve Spina, says the installers are working through the weekend. Special shout out to Steve's staff for coming in to move furniture. They are always busting butt to help us out.

The old carpet padding was heavily glued down and they had to bring a machine in this morning to completely strip the concrete sub floor. That was a setback. Now that they got that out of the way, the first section of carpet squares is being put down.
