In observance of Labor Day, EOP will be closed on Monday, September 7.

We join our community in recognizing the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers throughout Chemung County and beyond.

Free lead screenings for children and blood pressure checks for adults are available today from 2–4 PM at the Ernie Davis Family Center, 650 Baldwin Street in Elmira.

No insurance is needed, and there is still time to schedule an appointment.

Free lead screenings and blood pressure checks are available through EOP’s ACCEL Community Health Clinic — with **no insurance needed**.

Appointments are available for both child and adult lead testing and blood pressure testing for residents of Chemung and Schuyler Counties.

The ACCEL Community Health Clinic is available Thursdays from **2–4 PM** at the Ernie Davis Family Center, 650 Baldwin Street in Elmira.

Families who meet income eligibility guidelines can receive help with food, school supplies, backpacks, diapers, and utility assistance while supplies and funding last.

Distribution is first come, first served, so plan to come early.

Proof of income is required — such as paystubs, tax documents, or HEAP/SNAP award letters.

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Andrea Ogunwumi, CEO of the Economic Opportunity Program, Inc. of Chemung and Schuyler Counties, on being recognized as an America 250 Community Hero.
Andrea was honored during the America 250 Community Heroes Award Ceremony hosted by Congressman Nicholas A. Langworthy on August 25 at the Clemens Center.

The recognition celebrated individuals whose service, leadership, and commitment have made a lasting difference in their communities. Andrea was recognized for her work improving lives throughout the Southern Tier through programs addressing healthcare access, food security, housing, youth development, and other critical community needs.

The recognition also highlighted her leadership in initiatives such as ACCEL(a partnership with Arnot Health-Chemung County Public Health-EOP, Inc. and LECOM underwritten by Excellus BCBS), which is helping expand access to preventive healthcare and connect families with needed services, as well as her continued commitment to collaboration and community partnership.

For Andrea, this honor reflects something that has always been central to her leadership at EOP: bringing people and organizations together to create opportunities, strengthen families, and help our communities thrive.

Free community health screenings are available through the ACCEL Community Health Clinic at the Ernie Davis Family Center. Stop in for free blood pressure testing and lead screenings—no cost, and no appointment is mentioned on the flyer.

The clinic is open every Thursday:

First Thursday of each month: 5:00–7:00 PM
All other Thursdays: 2:00–4:00 PM
