This means that we have joined other libraries on Long Island and nationwide that offer resources to promote early literacy – the idea that literacy begins at birth, that children prepare to read a

Get ready to Unearth a Story at our Teen Summer Reading Kickoff! Sign up for Summer Reading and spend the afternoon gaming, earning prizes, and getting ready for a summer full of fun challenges.

⏰ Registration begins at 1:00 PM (Elmont Library cardholders only)

🎮 Game Truck from 2:00–4:00 PM (Entering Grades 6–12 only)

🍦 Ice Cream Truck at 3:00 PM for students who register during the kickoff (while supplies last)
