2 week Burn ban issued for Garvin County effective today

Due to the worsening drought, heat and windy conditions, please use extreme caution or totally refrain from doing any outside burning until conditions improve. Although we have not been placed under a burn ban yet, the risk for wildfires is extreme, especially during the middle of the day. There has been a lot of fire activity in our county and our neighboring counties over the last few weeks, and every 100+ degree day makes the conditions even worse. Thank you for your help on this, your local firefighters greatly appreciate it.
