Well said. It is amazing that it is not enough that volunteer fire fighters give their time then some expect them to train and do what is required of them with substandard equipment. Then they are called lazy because they don't get out and raise money to protect lives and property of their neighbors. For those that don't see the need to fund these volunteers maybe we should consider the cost if they all quit and we go to a paid county fire department. I wonder what that would cost us.

all the fire departments in the county need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.
This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.
We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?
Every fire department across the country needs help.

If the vote fails next month, the Elmore County Commission and Sheriff Bill Franklin can figure out how they will pay to house our inmates in other jails.

Today is the launch of a very important ballot initiative that invests directly in Elmore County’s future. The Enhance Elmore initiative asks all of us to come together and make a small investment to not only maintain but also enhance the way of life we have come to love throughout our county.
