Yesterday’s Digital Tools for Interpretation Revolutionary Roundtables workshop at Thomas Cole National Historic Site left us energized and excited about the possibilities digital tools can bring to storytelling, access, and engagement in museums and historic sites. Huge thanks to the Thomas Cole NHS team for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to see firsthand how digital interpretation is being used throughout the site.

Thank you to our participants, who showed up ready to ask thoughtful questions and share ideas openly. From collaborative brainstorming to discussions about opportunities, limitations, and creative approaches, it was an inspiring day of sharing ideas, challenges, and possibilities.

Grateful as always for support from the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area/Hudson River Valley Greenway for helping make this series possible! Join us on July 22 at Historic Huguenot Street for Enhancing Museum Narratives, the next workshop in the series! Learn more and register at the link in the comments!

Tools in service of interpretation — not interpretation in service of tools.

Join us on Thursday, May 14 at Thomas Cole National Historic Site in Catskill for a lively and collaborative workshop exploring how museums, historic sites, and cultural organizations are using digital and low-tech tools to create more engaging, meaningful visitor experiences.

Through real-world scenarios, group brainstorming, and hands-on activities, participants will work together to think through interpretive challenges, test ideas, and explore approaches ranging from audio and mobile interpretation to projection, participation, and immersive media.

This workshop is designed for experimentation, conversation, and practical thinking, whether your organization is just getting started or already actively exploring digital interpretation.

Hurry - only a few spots remain!
