The Elmwood Fire Department along with our friends at BYE Ambulance Service and Brimfield Community Fire Protection District will be conducting the Prom Crash re-enactment at the Elmwood Community Unit School District 322 today at 1pm. For the students, the public is welcome to come but please don’t block the students view and please stay out of the crash zone, thank you to the Elba Salem Fire District for covering our district and theirs while this event goes on !

🚒🚑Tomorrow from 1230-1400 BYE Ambulance will be participating in Operation Prom Night at Elmwood High School. This event is a collaborative effort between Elmwood High School, OSF, the Elmwood Fire Department, the Elmwood Police Department, Brimfield Fire Protection District, the Peoria County Coroner, and other local agencies. Its purpose is to educate students about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Today at 1:46 pm the Elmwood Fire Department was dispatched to fully involved house fire, MABAS box 880 was called and At 1:51 pm the Elmwood Fire Department arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire blowing out the rear of the residents, two Elmwood Engines with 4 personnel established a water supply and got a knockdown on the fire. Additionally agencies assisted with additional trucks and personnel. The Elmwood Fire Department has the BEST mutual aid partners around. Elmwood PD arrived and assisted, the city of Elmwood public works did an amazing job helping extinguish the Fire, BYE Ambulance Service took care of the pets involved. Assistance from Elba Salem Fire District, Logan-Trivoli Fire Protection District, Farmington Community Fire Protection District, Princeville Fire Protection district, fire protection district did an amazing and professional job in assisting us !! Atwood thank you for all your help as well. The il. State Fire marshals office was on scene to establish the cause of the fire

Tomorrow the Elmwood Fire Department will be delivering extra fire equipment to our friends at Saybrook-Arrowsmith Fire Protection District and Chief Tim Christensen, that area Departments have donated for the fire departments affected by the hurricane in North Carolina. We want to thank Elba Salem Fire District & Chief Ewalt, Farmington Community Fire Protection District & Chief Matt Waters, Logan-Trivoli Fire Protection District & Chief David Tuttle. We would also like to thank Angie for getting us the contact information! Troxell for the generous donation of $200.00. The donation will be used to cover the cost to get the equipment to North Carolina any donations received over the cost of delivery will be used to purchase the folks down there some cold weather gear with the cold weather on the Verizon.

The Elmwood Fire Department received confirmation from our friends at Compeer Financial on receiving a grant for $4,000.00 for portable radios. Thank you to everyone at Compeer and Assistant Chief DeVries for filing the grant request.
