I was unable to attend yesterdays Ameren Public Hearing regarding the Solar Farm in that is intended to be developed outside of Silex. I won't hash out all the details of what was said on that in this post, that will come later as I research and speak to people that were there. What I am going to provide you is the contact for your state and county representatives so that you can let them know you do not want this to happen in our area.

With that being said there are numerous hurdles that would need to be overcome to stop this project, the primary one being that the county has no Planning and Zoning laws. If the county would develop this after an election with a proposed Planning and Zoning on the ballot, then it would provide the county with the tools to ban developments like this and protect our farmland, outdoor spaces and water sources. But the people have to vote to approve it first. So if you don't want a Data Center or Solar Panel or a 'Battery Farm' in your back yard, please research what Planning and Zoning would mean to you.

IMPORTANT EDIT: Include the Case Number EA-2026-0183 to all communications. Save it. Screen shot it, write it down whatever you need to do!

Make your voices heard!
