Commercial vehicle fire on Sagemoore rd

06/01/2026

Just after 4am this morning we responded to a commercial vehicle fire, Franklin County Fire District 3 arrived on scene first followed by our units. The fire was quickly contained before it could spread to any vegetation.

We also want to thank all of the volunteers on both departments who woke up or who were already awake and answer the call, not only this event but others in the past as well.

We also want to thank their employers who allow our firefighters to leave their full time job to protect and serve our great community.

Weather for tomorrow has been upgraded.

PNW SEVERE RISK UPGRADE THURSDAY! Several severe storms are possible Thursday afternoon across parts of the Pacific Northwest, Interior Northwest and northern U.S. Rockies - this includes parts of Washington and Oregon, western Montana and northern Idaho. A storm system will be spinning over California sending disturbances into the region, helping storms develop during the afternoon and evening hours. Confidence is increasing that enough instability and shear will be present for stronger storms. The main risks with the strongest storms are very large hail and damaging wind gusts. In this type of setup, an isolated landspout tornado can’t be ruled out. Landspouts can develop when strong storms interact with localized zones of spin near the ground, especially along boundaries created by terrain. While typically weaker than classic supercell tornadoes, landspouts can still produce damage. A localized flood risk will also develop, especially near recent burn scars. The SPC does have a low-end severe risk for the region during this timeframe. There’s also a severe risk this afternoon across the region. Make sure you’re weather aware today and Thursday, and move indoors if storms approach⛈️

Today, we remember the fallen.

Franklin County Fire District #5 honors the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Freedom isn’t free. It’s paid for by those willing to stand the watch, and by the families who bear that sacrifice every day.

As firefighters, we understand duty, service, and loss. To our brothers and sisters in arms — and to the families left behind — we see you. We remember them.

We will never forget.
