At 16:45 hours, the TVFD was dispatched for a brush fire on Laurel Rd in the area of the State Game Lands. Battalion 69A (Romig) responded and was advised of a 6x6 area of brush burning. Upon arrival, Battalion 69A found an area approximately 20x30 burning quickly up a steep grade. Brush 69-2 arrived and deployed a 200 ft booster reel. Brush 69-1 and Engine 69-5 arrived shortly after and established additional hose lines and water supply. Laurel Rd Command was established and additional brush pieces, manpower, and an additional tanker were requested. Brush 62, Utility 62, Brush 24, Attack 24, and tanker 24 all arrived and were given assignments such as setting up progressive hose lines, leaf blowers that were used to make fire breaks around the perimeter, along with hand tools. Overhaul was performed and all hot spots extinguished. Approximately 3/4 of an acre was involved. Great job done by all crews in challenging terrain.
