Tornado Warning for southern Kane, northeast Kendall, southern DuPage, and northern Will Counties. including Aurora IL, Joliet IL and Naperville IL until 11:00 AM CDT. Within this warning, embedded tornadoes and destructive tornado-like thunderstorm winds both possible. Aurora Airport in Sugar Grove recently gusted to 85 mph. Head indoors for safe shelter immediately!

Last month, we had Subies of the Corn present the Elwood Police Department with a HomeAgain microchip reader. They graciously donated this microchip reader to assist with reuniting lost pets and their owners. This microchip reader is an amazing addition to our officer's tool belt to help reduce the time pets are separated from their families. Subies of the Corn began as a Subaru Enthusiasts Car Club in 2017 and became an Illinois nonprofit corporation in August of 2023. We greatly appreciate J. Mykel and Christine Hill along with their members (Mike Bytner, John Phelps, and Arlene Melgar) who took the time to make the trip to Elwood and showcase the dedication of their organization’s mission.

🚨TRAFFIC ALERT🚨

There is currently a semi-truck fire at the entrance to the BNSF Railyard (26664 South Elwood International Port Road). Due to this incident the entrance will be shut down until emergency crews clear the scene. Traffic is being impacted and is backing up toward Elwood International Port Road and Mississippi Avenue. Avoid this area if possible and expect a higher volume of traffic, especially commercial traffic at this time!
