Elwood, IL 23-25 February 2024
Over a very busy Battle assembly weekend the 470th, and down-trace units participated in a Mass Medical event, Leader Professional Development event, All Warrior Training, and a Dine-in event. In total 276 Soldiers participated in the events from the HHD 470th MCB, 251st ICTC, 334th QM CO, 459th TC CO, and 941st MCT.

To add to the excitement the 459th Transportation Company held a Change of Responsibility for outgoing 1SG Andrews. 1SG Andrews has served the 459th for many years, and his leadership, knowledge, and guidance will truly be missed amongst the Battalion whole. 1SG Schroeder(incoming 1SG) assumed his new role, and is no stranger to the 459th TC CO. We’ll look forward to working with 1SG Schroeder in the years to come.

On 17 October 2023, the 470th MCB attended a community engagement event at the Elwood school. Soldiers from the 470th HHD staged one spooky LMTV, and passed out candy to kids from the community.

Several parents voiced that they, and their kids enjoy seeing Army presence at past Elwood community events. At this time there have been no confirmed cavities related to the event.

20230921-24 Fort McCoy Wisconsin
The 251st ICTC, 445th TC, 459th TC, HHD 470th MCB, and the 941st MCT participated in a fun filled Range weekend at beautiful Fort McCoy Wisconsin. We were of course a welcomed sight by local farmers as we don’t train without the rain. Other events held this past weekend include a Change of Command for incoming 470th Commander LTC Matthew Meehan, a Change of Responsibility from CSM Jason Walling to interim CSM 1SG Matthew Czerniewski, and the 470th Best Warrior Competition (BWC).
All participants of the BWC gave 100% effort. In total there were seven participants in the BWC, but only one came out a first place winner; SPC Larisa Racovciuc of the 251st ICTC took first place. HHD 470th, 334th QM, 445th TC, and 459th TC conducted May drill over the weekend. Training conducted included night driving, PMCS, annual training load out, and ACFT. Additionally SPC Melina Lambert was pinned Sergeant by her mother. SGT Lambert is the first female NCO in her family. 💚

Congratulations to SPC Jasen Cavasos of the 251st ICTC.

Effective 10 DEC 2022 was advanced to the rank of Specialist.

SPC Cavasos has had a hard fought road being injured while in basic training; but refused to give up, and is a reminder to us all that persistence, and dedication goes a long way. Congrats! SPC Cavasos!
