Our tour season has started! This is a group admiring the plaque down by the lake. The plaque was dedicated to Sig from “The Voyageurs” whom he traveled with on many canoe trips. They called him their “Bourgeois” to honor him as their chosen and trusted leader. It’s the same term the voyageurs of old used to identify their leaders. Their group included a Canadian Major General, diplomats and ambassadors, and other prominent writers. Their adventures brought international interest to conservation issues of the US and Canada’s Quetico Superior region.
