For Mentors ~ Help positively impact the growth of a mentee in the area by supporting their ideas, interests and hobbies while offering guidance as another caring adult in their life.

Great time was had by all for the Advanced Canoe Trip with our High Schoolers!

After pivoting like many did during the recent fire events, our Advanced Canoe Trip students headed to the North Shore where things were less smokey but a little more challenging! Our trip coordinators put the “Advanced” in Advanced Canoe Trip, with river navigation, long portages and familiar but still new terrain!

They also gave the participants a fun day on the shore with group activities and relaxing shoreline camping. We are so thankful for the relationships these students and our group leaders have built over many miles in the wilderness. These are truly moments they will carry for a long time!

Join us for a hands on wild rice harvesting trip, September 5th and 6th! This trip is an opportunity for students in grades 6th - 12th to learn traditional wild rice harvesting techniques, build outdoor skills, connect with local teachers, and develop a deeper sense of place and community.

Participants will learn canoeing, camping, wild rice harvesting and processing. As well as teamwork and communication! No previous camping experience or equipment is required. Most group gear will be provided, and we can help with clothing and personal gear as needed.
The wild rice harvesting process will be taught by Giiwedin Indizhinikaaz, an Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) artist, teacher, and practitioner of traditional skills, along with ricing partners Alyssa and Riley.

Come learn, work together, and experience the traditions and knowledge connected to wild rice

The Wolf Pack Afterschool Program Application is Open!

Our Afterschool Program is now excepting applications for the school year. This program offers afterschool care from 3:30 pm to 5:00pm for students grades K - 5th. During their time with us participants receive academic support, guidance on building friendships, community field trips, free choice time, outside time and a snack!

We pride ourselves in creating a caring space for both participants and their families!

Ely's City Volleyball Crew organized a Beach Volleyball Tournament recently attracting teams from all over the Range! We were honored to learn any funds donated were passed on to Ely Community Resource. Community members like this are why Ely is a beautiful place to live. Thank you so much!

Pictured are the teams - Ely, Ely Highschool, Babbit/Grand Rapids, and Hibbing. The Hibbing Team generously donated their 2nd place winnings to us as well. All we can say is WOW!
