🚸 Back-to-School Safety Reminder!
If your child is walking or riding a bike to school tomorrow, remind them to:
• Walkers: Use sidewalks & crosswalks when available.
• Bikers: Wear a helmet & follow traffic signs.
• Look both ways before crossing & stay alert.
• Keep phones & other distractions put away.

Drivers: As you pull out of your driveway tomorrow morning, STOP and LOOK! Kids may be walking or riding by and can be difficult to see. Take an extra moment to check your surroundings before you back up or pull into the street.

School is back, and our streets will be busy! Slow down, pay attention, and help everyone get to school safely.

🎒 Hey Elyria!
As students head back to school, we’re asking everyone to slow down, stay alert and watch for children walking, biking and crossing the street.

🚌 When you see a school bus, follow the rules of the road. Stop when required, give buses plenty of room and never pass a stopped bus when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.

🚗 Slow down in school zones.
📵 Put the phone down and pay attention.
👀 Watch carefully for children and pedestrians.
🛑 Follow all traffic signs, signals and school bus laws.

A few extra seconds of caution can help keep our kids safe. Let's start the school year off right, Elyria!
