Thank you Mayor Jack Bradley for the appreciation post! Majority of the work we do is behind the scene. Helping provide equal opportunity for fun summer experiences is something we LOVE to support.

Thank you for being a vital partner of ours as well! We surely can’t do anything alone. 🫢🏽

Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we celebrate the many individuals who make a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

To fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, adoptive fathers, foster fathers, uncles, brothers, mentors, coaches, and all father figures, thank you for the love, guidance, encouragement, and support you provide every day.

Strong, caring relationships help children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Whether you share a home, a family bond, or simply show up consistently for a child who needs you, your presence matters.

Today, we honor and appreciate all those who help children feel safe, valued, and loved.

Happy Father's Day to everyone who plays a meaningful role in raising, supporting, and inspiring the next generation.

Tomorrow is International Yoga Day!

Did you know our Executive Director, Chelsea Freeman-Yates, practices yoga almost every day?

Whether she's supporting children and families throughout the workday or cheering on local youth at a Lorain County baseball game after work, she makes time to prioritize her mental health and well-being. In this video, she's doing a handstand while watching a youth baseball game, a reminder that wellness can happen anywhere!

Yoga helps:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve focus and concentration
- Build strength and flexibility
- Supports overall mental wellness

If you've been thinking about trying yoga, there are great opportunities right here in Lorain County!

Consider checking out local options such as The Studio at Doc Watson's in Amherst, Cultivate Yoga in Avon, Avon Lake Yoga, or yoga and wellness classes offered through the Lorain County Metro Parks Amherst HealthPlex. There are also free and low-cost community yoga opportunities offered throughout Lorain County.

At LC CFFC, we believe healthy communities start with healthy people. Taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's essential.

Whether it's yoga, a walk outdoors, reading a book, or spending time with loved ones, what do you do to support your mental wellness?

Where do you do yoga in Lorain County?

Today, LC CFFC honors Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward equity and opportunity for all.

As an organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of children and families in Lorain County, we recognize that strong communities are built when every individual and family has the opportunity to thrive. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of understanding our history, celebrating progress, and continuing to work together to create systems that support, nurture, and empower all members of our community.

Through collaboration, advocacy, and service, we remain committed to helping build a future where every child and family can reach their full potential.

Happy Juneteenth.

From spending her childhood checking out armfuls of books and falling in love with Amelia Bedelia stories, to pursuing a career dedicated to supporting and empowering others, Deona's journey is a testament to the power of curiosity, compassion, and lifelong learning.

Turns out the little girl who loved stories grew up to help others rewrite theirs.
