Embarrass Minnesota

Embarrass Minnesota Embarrass Minnesota is a township located in Northern MN and most well-known for it's frequent cold temperature readings. It is a sight to behold!

Embarrass Township is a 36 square mile township in Northeastern Minnesota. The population of Embarrass is just over 600 residents. Township government consists of 3 Board Supervisors, 1 Treasurer and 1 Clerk. The board meets on the first Wednesday of every month. There are three main non-profit organizations which are active in Embarrass.
*Embarrass Region Volunteer Fire Department provides servic

e to Embarrass, Pike, Kugler, Waasa and White Townships. They meet on the first Tuesday of every month.
*Sisu Heritage, Inc., is an organization which focuses it's efforts on the Finnish Heritage and maintaining/restoring several Finnish Homesteads in Embarrass and surrounding townships.
*Embarrass Region Fair Board manages the Timber Hall (one of the largest free-standing log buildings in the US). The Timber Hall is used as a community center and is the location of the annual Embarrass Region Fair on the last weekend of August as well as various other activities and events throughout the year. In addition to the non-profits, there are several small businesses in Embarrass. Some with store-fronts, some home-based. Embarrass is also home to Heritage Park & Campground. A municipal campground with 10 RV sites and 10 tent sites that are available from May 1 through October 1. The Annual Ice Candle and Holiday Celebration is held at the Embarrass Town Hall and Cemetery every December. This event is one way residents keep their Finnish Heritage alive. Luminaries made of ice are placed on the graves of loved ones and candles lit. Approximately 500 candles have been lit for the last several years.

STAY SAFE EVERYONE.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMAN FIGHTING THESE FIRES.

Friends, the wind shift has brought the immediate reality of the fires in the Boundary Waters to our doors, windows, nose, and lungs. Throughout the spin up of resources addressing these fires we have supported the larger response by having a quick reaction crew station in Ely each day for search and rescue efforts. Yesterday several members supported the closure and evacuation of the Echo Trail. Over the next several days we have plans to stage people and equipment in the Ely area to support search and rescue operations or other needed emergency response we can affect. Below Captain Brett Schelde (7100) and North LT KK Johnson (7353) coordinate our portion inside of the larger Incident Command. Picture by Emergency Support Services Administrator Dewey Johnson.

Folks, we hope any activities you find yourself in over the next several days you stay safe. Whether you are on the front lines feeling the heat from the flames, piloting a plane dropping water, or making sure everyone is hydrated and bellies full WE APPRECIATE YOU!

During times like these everyone wants to help where they can, we would recommend keeping an eye on St. Louis County, Minnesota page. At 3:00 p.m. 7/15/26 They are currently not needing any donation of supplies.
