Here's why the entire city has to be shut off to fix a leak on the north side of town. The valve that is connected to the leak was shut off but it is not holding. In order to fix the leak, there can be no water coming from the broken pipe. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is to shut the water off at the pumphouse under the water tower. The City of Emerado appreciates your patience as crews are working diligently to fix the problem!

UPDATE!! WATER WILL BE SHUT OFF THIS AFTERNOON FOR SEVERAL HOURS FOR THE ENTIRE CITY!!

Yet another successful Cornfeed in Emerado is in the books! Thank you to all who came to our little town to visit!

Although I have a mystery that I need help solving. Someone left there cell phone behind and it’s lonely. If you lost your phone, please contact the Emerado Police Department at 701-594-5100.

The potential for severe weather for this weekend is quite possible. Please be aware for quickly changing weather conditions. Should the storm siren be activated in Emerado, that means you need to find immediate shelter. The Emerado Public School (501 Main St.) is the designated storm shelter for Emerado. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and/or in a kennel and under control.

There were three dogs roaming around Cenex in Emerado this morning. If they are yours or happen to know who they might belong to, please come get them and/or let me know. I do have a contact with someone that will pick them up and re-home them if necessary.

There was a post by someone this morning who said they would shoot these dogs, well, that is not my plan. Again, if anyone has information pertaining to the owner of these dogs, please let me know.

GF County Rd. 3 (25th St. NE) will be closed just south of Emery Ave. (17th Ave. NE) starting at 3:00 PM for about 2 hours. Emery Ave. will be OPEN to one lane traffic. Drivers can detour around construction through Emerado using Emery Ave. and/or E Hancock Ave.
