Northwest winds will gust to 30 to 45 mph with isolated gusts around 55 mph on Wednesday afternoon. The main concern these strong winds bring is the potential for reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Be prepared for possible hazardous travel on Wednesday.

Dangerous, life-threatening cold will settle into the area Thursday evening and continue into Sunday morning. The coldest time frame should be Thursday night into Friday when wind chills will average -20 to -40.

Shouldn't be too impactful, but we could see a dusting up to an inch of snow across northeast Nebraska and west-central Iowa this evening. A few slick spots may develop on untreated surfaces, especially where snow is able to accumulate.
