The Borough of Emerson appreciates our emergency responders and essential personnel each and every day, and most especially on days like today, for their dedication to keeping our residents safe and our Borough operating.

Gov. Murphy has declared a State of Emergency for all of New Jersey, effective 5:00pm today, in anticipation of severe storms causing hazardous weather conditions including heavy rain, high winds, and flash flooding. The National Weather Service has issued flood watches and wind advisories for our area.

Residents are urged to take precautionary steps to protect themselves and their property. Remain safe in your homes or other indoor shelters. If you must travel, make sure that you are alert to roadway conditions and assess driving conditions for potential hazards. DO NOT attempt to drive in known flooding areas of the Borough. We recommend that you keep flashlights handy and charge your phones and electronic devices in case of power outages.

Emerson OEM will send out RAVE alerts as necessary.
