We have room for more teams and we have 3 carts available for our golf tournament fundraiser tomorrow morning at the Red Oak Country Club. We are working toward a new truck and side by side. Reach out to Ethan 712-520-2333 or Liz 712-309-2201 if you would like to sign a team up, or be a sponsor!

I have already reached out and have been waiting to hear from American Red Cross to see if we can somehow do a blood drive here in Emerson and possibly do an evening one as most folks work during the day. Anyone interested?

This last Saturday, we held our annual meeting. We had dinner, held our meeting and then a game where all can participate. Our officers remained the same except for one position. I’ll post below. Basically, we show up, have dinner, then hold our meeting/nominations/awards/games. Most members didn’t even notice but this year, we had 2 awards given to two of the 4 longest standing members. Zennith Wilber for EMS Director and Liz Ungry for FF of the year. It takes a lot of dedication, time, UNPAID expenses/time, to make these operations happen. They all do this out of the kindness of their hearts, the willingness to serve, their commitment to train, commitment to their community, and most of all, their time away from their own loved ones to do so. They are not paid, it’s THEIR time, THEIR money, THEIR family and many more things that can be listed. Gas money, hotel money, time away, get up in the middle of the night, leave their loved ones/ or perhaps, inspire those closest! We are here to serve. You, your family, friends. What inspires you?

Here is an update on some of the things going on with Emerson Fire/Rescue. We have a new 3rd captain, Jason Ungry who is FF 1 and currently going through Emergency Medical Responder along with 1st captain Ethan Meier and 1 other. We now have a new sign above the station that looks fabulous thanks to Signs& Shines out of Shenandoah (Shelly Anderson) highly recommended!!! Easiest thing ever! We appreciate you! Working on getting our new flag pole done. Members Randy Knop, Jay/Liz Ungry, possibly others to help do base, could also use as a teaching moment for cement/brick work. It’s a going to be a lot of physical work, we would like to lay brick as base, we have a top/ball picked out as well.
Our assistant Chief, Randy is doing great right now! However, we could all still use prayers for him and those surrounding him. Hard times.
Any donations towards the new flag pole would be greatly appreciated! Please designate that. We appreciate any and all donations/physical help!
