Greenhouse and Raised Garden beds are all finished up and ready for summer break! Special shoutout to our Greenhouse Student Supervisor Macie W. who helped with cleaning, inventory, and planting. Check out the raised garden beds to the west of the greenhouse this summer. The raised garden beds to the west of the greenhouse is our Community Garden which are free to the community throughout the summer. Please collect all produce and flowers responsibly and limit damage to the physical plants.

Today concluded the spring 2026 Hunt SAFE course where Mr. Toupal along with FFA Member Shay M. were able to welcome in 15 new hunters to the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks. Shay is using this as his senior project and had a great turn out. Yesterday included more of the classroom portion where today contained a review, test, and the live fire!

The Agricultural Communications and Leadership Class presented their final project on their community service project. They conducted their project by helping out at the Sioux Falls Banquet back in April. The final project was the students had to submit a proposal for a project, identify materials needed, and conduct their community service project.

Today the Bridgewater Emery FFA Chapter Officers partnered with the 5th Grade Class to take an environmental field trip. Today students were able to go hiking, fishing, and exploring a state park. This is a great experience to get students into state parks as they begin to open up for the summer season.

Kentucky Oaks / Derby was a great time today having the ability to make mocktail Mint Julips (Signature Kentucky Derby Drink) using Ginger Ale, Simple Syrup, and learning about Aromatics in Mint Leaves. We also took some time to research horses running tomorrow in the big race, made our very own hats, and even conducted a couple races of our own.
