Where there’ s one weapon there might be more…

This morning Officers responded to a person waving a knife and threatening people. EPD Officers safely detained the subject without incident.

Officers found the 11” knife but they also found… a mini .9mm gun, a training sword made of wood, a mini metal pick and an improvised wrench and master-lock tied together. Officers safely and quickly resolved the threat through de-escalation and teamwork.

A car burglar was arrested last night with the help of community members. Security and residents assisted patrol officers by reviewing their surveillance footage and providing us with enough evidence to arrest a burglar on the prowl. The burglar was also in possession of stolen property that was reunited to the rightful owner.
