J-sei’s Artisan Faire is just 1 day away! Not only does our fair offer detailed and unique crafts, but we also offer a wide variety of local food, including home-made baked goods like those from Jane’s Homemade Bakery in Berkeley, CA. Drawing from flavors of Asia and the Pacific, Jane infuses delicious ingredients, including matcha, yuzu, ginger, and sesame into her gluten-free baked goods. Come join us tomorrow at 2pm for "Cactus Blossoms: Poetry In (and Beyond) Gila River)"! "Cactus Blossoms" is an anthology of poetry written by high school students who were incarcerated at the Gila River camp during World War II Watch a powerful documentary, and delve into the world of poetry, memory, and history, as archeologist Koji Lau-Ozawa and poet Brynn Saito recount their quest to track down and interview the poets. Come join us for a thought-provoking discussion and film viewing on "Cactus Blossoms", an anthology of poetry written by high school students who were incarcerated at the Gila River camp during WWII. Led by archaeologist Koji Lau-Ozawa and poet Brynn Saito, this collaboration uses the art of poetry and combines it with the history of archeology to bring to light the lives of these young children as they embark on their quest to find and intereview the Cactus Blossom poets.
