An ordinance of the City of Eminence, Missouri, to establish a two-hour parking zone on Main Street with weekday enforcement and providing for signage and penalties.
Section 1. Purpose
The purpose of this ordinance is to promote traffic flow, support local businesses, and ensure equitable access to parking along Main Street by establishing a regulated two-hour parking zone during peak business hours.
Section 2. Establishment of two-hour parking zone.
A two-hour parking limit is hereby established on Main Street, beginning at Brawley Family Market on the East side of Main Street and the Assembly of God Church on the West side of Main Street and ending at The Double O Saloon on the East side of Main Street and Security Bank of the Ozarks on the West side of Main Street, all within the corporate limits of the City of Eminence, Missouri.
Section 3. Hours and Days of Enforcement
The two-hour parking limit shall be enforced Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:00PM.
Section 4. Signage
The City shall install and maintain appropriate signage clearly indicating:
“2-Hour Parking”
“Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.”
And any additional instructions necessary for enforcement. Signs shall be placed at intervals sufficient to provide reasonable notice to motorists.
Section 5. Enforcement
The two-hour parking limit shall be enforced by the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office or other designated enforcement authority contracted or appointed by the City of Eminence.
Section 6. Penalties
Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $100.00 per violation.
The vehicle may also be towed at the owners expense.
Each additional two-hour period of unlawful parking shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 7. Severability
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is declared invalid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the remaining portions.
Section 8. Effective Date
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
