Good afternoon,
I was just made aware that there was a lot of fake money that was found around Coach D Park. If you happened to find the fake money, please destroy it. I have seen the fake money, and it doesn't look close to being real. Some had Chinese writing, others were obviously not the right color.
Please do not try to pass it off as real money. Trying to use fake money to buy anything is Forgery 1 which is a Class C Felony.
Again, if you found any fake money destroy it or turn it into the police so it can be destroyed.
Businesses, please examine any paper currency carefully for the next week or so. Especially if you are given $100 bills.
516.020 Forgery in the first degree.
(1) A person is guilty of forgery in the first degree when, with intent to defraud, deceive or injure another, he falsely makes, completes or alters a written instrument which is or purports to be or which is calculated to become or to represent when completed:
(a) Part of an issue of money, stamps, securities or other valuable instruments issued by a government or governmental agency; or
(b) Part of an issue stocks, bonds or other instruments representing interests in or claims against a corporate or other organization or its property.
(2) Forgery in the first degree is a Class C felony.

We will be pulling footage from the cameras at the park to see if we can find where the fake money originated from.
