🚨🚑 Now Seeking Dedicated Community Leaders! 🚑🚨

Are you passionate about serving your community and making a meaningful impact? We are currently looking for committed individuals to join our Ambulance Board of Directors in a volunteer capacity.

This is a unique opportunity to help guide the future of local emergency medical services, support first responders, and ensure high-quality care for those who need it most.

Responsibilities may include:
•Providing strategic direction and oversight
• Supporting organizational growth and sustainability
• Advocating for EMS services in the community
• Attending regular board meetings, which are held every other month

We’re looking for individuals who:
- Care deeply about community health and safety
- Bring leadership, professional, or life experience
- Are willing to collaborate and contribute ideas
- Can commit time for meetings

No medical background is required, just a willingness to serve and make a difference!

This afternoon, we once again received a report of people on the ice in the middle of the Allegheny River. Luckily, Emlenton Borough Police Department officers were on duty and responded quickly to speak with the individuals.

REMEMBER--RIVER ICE IS NEVER SAFE! There is moving water under the surface and the ice is NOT strong and uniform like on a lake or pond. Walking out on river ice is EXTREMELY dangerous and creates a VERY DIFFICULT rescue situation. Please do not attempt.

⚠️Attention⚠️

With the possibility of this upcoming winter storm, we would like to remind everyone of a few things:
• First: make sure you are prepared in the event that the forecast is correct. Take the next two days to get prepared. Make sure all medication supplies are adequate to get you through several days.
•Second: make sure you have a plan in action in the event of power/heat outages. Also make arrangements for someone to shovel and/or plow for you
•Third: check on your elderly/handicapped neighbors and family members.
•Fourth: remember that just because we are emergency services, it does not make it easier for us to travel on treacherous roadways than it does for anyone else. Please be mindful of this and only utilize 911 for true emergencies. If you are currently having any medical concerns, please make arrangements to be seen by your doctor, urgent care or ER (if necessary) now.

We are proud to serve you all and want to work together to keep you and our crews safe.
