The Greensville County/City of Emporia office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability. ANR - Agriculture and natural resources(ANR) programs are

directed toward a broad range of needs associated with the production of animals, seafood, food crops, greenhouse and nursery products, turf, and forests; the financial management of agricultural enterprises; and the protection of the environment. FCS-Family and Consumer Sciences(FCS)provide a holistic approach to strengthening Virginia families, including those with limited resources, assists youth and adult participants in developing wellness life skills related to health, diet, and nutrition, exercise, family, financial management, and parenting.

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. 4-H, the largest comprehensive youth development program in the nation, educates young people, ages 5 to 18, through a variety of experiential techniques that encourage hands-on, active learning. FNP-SNAP-Ed Programs help youth, individuals and families make wise nutritional choices, prepare food safely, prevent chronic disease, and make the necessary lifestyle changes for optimal wellness.
