We are pleased to announce that Hailey Ingle, a Business Administration undergraduate student from the School of Business & Technology, is the winner of the Research and Creativity Day 2026 T Shirt Design Contest. Her outstanding design was selected as the winning submission.

Faculty and students are invited to participate in Research & Creativity Day by presenting posters, oral presentations, creative performances, and visual or fine arts. Faculty are encouraged to present alongside students.

Dr. Gary Bitter Research Award

This award honors high impact learning experiences at ESU that feature
collaborative faculty and student research. Nominations are reviewed by a
subcommittee of the Faculty Research and Creativity Committee.

ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS
• Faculty with the rank of instructor or above.
• Students enrolled in at least part-time status at time of award.
• Prior awardees can reapply after five years.

SUPPORTING MATERIALS
• A detailed account of the high impact learning experience (maximum of two
pages), including future implications of the research and presentations,
publications, or awards resulting from the research.
• Curriculum vitae of faculty and student member(s) of research team,
highlighting past and present high impact learning experiences.

AWARD
• The total award is valued at $5,000 and will be distributed as follows:
• $3,000 to the lead faculty member on the research team.
• $1,000 scholarship to the student who assisted with the research project. If
more than one student is associated with the research team, the award will be
split equally amongst the students.
• $1,000 to the lead faculty member’s department for their enhancement fund.

Calling all Researchers and Visual & Performing Artists!

Students and faculty are invited to participate in this year’s Research and Creativity Day, scheduled for Thursday, April 30th. All presenters will receive a free T-shirt and will be eligible for door prizes!
All students can submit entries for:
• Oral presentations
• Poster presentations
• Creative performances
• Visual art showcases
In addition to the four categories above, graduate students can submit entries for a Three Minute Thesis presentation.
All abstract submissions are due by Wednesday, April 15th .

It is once again time to recognize and honor excellence in research, scholarly activity and creative endeavors at ESU. The Research and Grants Center invites faculty and staff to nominate deserving individuals for the prestigious President’s Award for Research and Creativity.
This esteemed award celebrates an ESU individual who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to research, scholarly activity or creative endeavors.

This funding is intended to support graduate student research endeavors by providing resources for operating expenses such as paper, duplicating, mailing, special equipment, lab equipment, chemicals, software, and travel necessary to conduct research.
