The City of Encinal would like to congratulate Love’s Travel Stop #298 on their Grand Re-Opening today!

We are excited to see the continued growth and investment in our community. Thank you to the Love’s team for your commitment to serving travelers, creating jobs, and supporting Encinal.

We would also like to thank the community members who came out to show their support and help make today’s event special. A special thank you to Mayor Debra Weikel, Councilwoman Nieto, and Chief of Police Pablo Balboa III for attending and representing the City of Encinal during this great celebration.

The City of Encinal City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

As we enjoy the holiday weekend, let us take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

🚨 FLOOD WATCH ALERT 🚨

The National Weather Service has advised that flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains possible across all of South Texas through Monday evening.

🌧 Expected rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with some areas possibly receiving up to 6 inches.

⚠️ Flooding may occur in:
• Low-lying and flood-prone areas
• Roads with poor drainage
• Creeks, streams, and rivers
• Urban areas prone to standing water

Please use caution while traveling during periods of heavy rain. Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

The Encinal Police Department will continue monitoring weather conditions and provide updates as needed. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts.
