Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember and honor Chief Casterlin.
A chief is more than a title. It is leadership, dedication, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. Chief Casterlin embodied those qualities every day, answering the call when others needed help, guiding fellow firefighters, and leaving a lasting impact on the department and community he loved.
The helmet may rest, the badge may be silent, but the legacy of Chief 44 will never fade. His service, mentorship, friendship, and devotion to the fire service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of serving beside him.
To his family, friends, and fire service brothers and sisters, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the countless lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Rest easy, Chief. Your watch may be over, but your impact will remain forever.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of John Kratochvil.
While many of you may not have known John personally, his impact on the West Corners Fire Department and our community was immeasurable. He was a long-time member of the department, a life member of the company, a past Commissioner, a past fire marshal, and so much more.
John truly embodied what it means to serve. He cared deeply about West Corners and always had the best interests of the department and community at heart. His compassion, dedication, and leadership will never be forgotten.
Please keep his family, friends, and all who knew him in your thoughts during this difficult time.
