This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We are forever grateful for the heroes—military members, first responders, and all who gave their lives to protect the freedoms and communities we hold dear. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day: honor, sacrifice, and remembrance.

From all of us at the Endwell Fire and O.L. Davis Fire Company, we remember, and we thank you.

With the arrival of warmer weather, the road and highway construction season is underway. Work zones mean increased activity, reduced space, and a higher risk for both workers and drivers.
The leading cause of injuries and fatalities in highway work zones is contact with construction vehicles, equipment, and moving objects, many of which are preventable.
Please do your part to keep everyone safe:
-Slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones
-Stay alert and avoid distractions
-Move over a lane when it is safe to do so
-Expect the unexpected and follow posted signage
A few extra seconds of caution can save lives. Let’s protect the workers who protect and maintain our roads.

Many people enjoy spending Memorial Day weekend camping—but do you know the #1 rule of camping?
Put your fire out completely!
Before you go to bed, head out for a hike, or leave your campsite, always make sure your fire is fully extinguished.
Follow these simple steps:
-Douse the fire with water
-Stir the ashes and remaining embers
-Add more water again until everything is cool and wet
Never leave behind hot coals, embers, or smoldering wood. A few extra minutes of care can help prevent wildfires and keep our forests and communities safe.
