Wabash Area Development, Inc. would like you to be aware of a program we have that can help the homeless get into safe, affordable housing, as well as help those who have fallen behind on their rent and are about to be evicted remain in their homes. The Emergency Solutions Grant can pay deposits and rent for the homeless, and help with rent that is in arrears for persons with an eviction notice. Some of the program requirements are:

• Enough income to show that you can pay your monthly expenses in the future
• An unexpected crisis that has caused you to fall behind in your rent
• Live in rental property that can pass a housing inspection
• Live in non-subsidized housing
• Additional guidelines do apply

The general public can start scheduling appointments for LIHEAP on Monday, 11/4/13. Contact your local WADI office to see if you meet the eligibility requirements.

WADI Wabash Area Development Inc. is currently accepting Head Start and Early Head Start applications, in all of our service counties, for women who are pregnant and children ages birth to five. Please contact a Head Start representative at your local WADI office or call (618)963-2387 for more information on eligibility and the application process.
