At Bergen Family Center, we believe that real change begins with listening.
During a recent Coffee with the Mayor event hosted by the Englewood Public Library, our CEO, Aaron Daly, shared how his own experiences growing up on the Lower East Side of New York continue to shape his leadership today.
One message stood out:
“Our job is not to tell the community what it needs. Our job is to listen.”
That philosophy guides everything we do from supporting children and families to creating meaningful connections for older adults.
Aaron also shared a simple but powerful reminder:
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
At Bergen Family Center, we choose to go far by building partnerships, investing in people, and creating opportunities for every member of our community to thrive.
One of the most inspiring examples of that work is seeing seniors read to young children in our programs, bringing generations together and strengthening the bonds that make our community stronger.
Because our work is about more than programs.
It’s about people.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about building a brighter future together.
❤️ Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation.
